FALLING FOR IT

“Falling for It” is the first collaborative project for artists Barbara Robertson and Gene Gentry McMahon.

After talking and thinking about collaborating for several years, they were inspired to begin their work together with these two animated movies, showing at WUG. Combining images of Barbara’s abstracted urban environments and Gene’s iconic, hybrid, fictional figures of women, they created these two animations to be shown as a diptych. The collaboration gives a new visual and conceptual twist to each artist’s work and is the beginning of a new creative adventure.

The animation is part of the group exhibition, “Action,” curated by Elizabeth Jameson. On view at Fresh Mochi, Action features work by Janelle Abbott, Janet Galore, Flatchestedmama, Gene Gentry McMahon, Steven LaRose, Demi Shaft Raven.
